Tommorow’s MDNUG meeting (22/06/2004)
Noticed yesterday that the topics for tommorow’s MDNUG meeting were up, Refactoring and a tool called Codesmith.
Both should be worth attending to learn more about. I’ve heard about Codesmith but never used it. And Refactoring, I’ve heard many good things about. Should be interesting.
The upcoming version of Visual Studio .NET (VS.NET 2005, formerly known as Whidbey) offers refactoring support. Although there are tools out there that offer perhaps more advanced refactoring (i’m going from reports from others here.). I’ve had a play around with a few refactoring tools in JBuilder (without knowing it) last year while I was developing and debugging my final year industrial experience project last year.
Not too sure about template based code generation support in VS.NET 2005, but that’s basically what Codesmith (according to their website) does.
Very cool stuff! So if you’re a developer, and you’re in Melbourne, as Frank says in his blog “So, local Melbourne folks come along and say hi to the team. Nigel Watson will be there!”.
Hey, there’s Pizza and Coke too
