MS IE Team Blog and Blogging…
Interesting, just catching up on my unread RSS Feeds in RSS Bandit, and noticed Dave Massy mention that there is a new MS IE Team blog.
This is cool, the general public (or rather, the general population of web developers/blog readers) have now got another way to interact with the team of developers at Microsoft who work on Internet Explorer.
With all these Microsoft Teams having blogs it sure makes it seem like blogging is definately a thing for the future. I know many people who write blogs, but write on personal issues/topics. These people are still relatively students (16 – 20+) who have been blogging for the past 2 years or more. They will move into the corporate space one day, and when they do, they will take their blogs with them. Their readership is large, there is no doubting that. Their readers are those they interact with in online web forums, as well as friends. It is the first group, the web forums that brings in the large readership. An individual who gets himself/herself noticed on those boards are those that get read.
So, blogging? A thing of the future? Most definately, however there are many “ifs and buts” as to how sustainable it will be in the long run. With blogs it is essential to consistantly generate fresh content. Something the reader has potentially never read before. Something which hasn’t be regurgitated from other blogs. A fresh voice, a new opinion. A blogger needs to reinvent themselves to keep up. To cope with changes in the blogosphere.
