Catching up on my inbox and an Australian EPG

I’ve gotten many emails over the time i’ve been away, and I think i’ve tackled the vast majority of it all.

I’ve gotten almost 1000 emails from my blogging script asking me to approve comments, all of which i’ve gone through and they are all spam comments.

And looking at the two blog comments i’ve gotten while away, i’m happy to announce that neither of them were spam comments.

One of the comments on the blog was from Peter Vogel who says he is developing an EPG database for Australia.

Peter also sent me an email (below… Hope you don’t mind me quoting the email Peter):

I am developing a source of xml TV listings for the Australian FTA
channels. This will become a subscription service, the first legal
(non-copyright-infringing) source of 7-day EPG data that I know of in
Australia.

I am looking for poeple to beta test the data, in return for a free
subscription.

Please forward this invitation to anyone that might be interested.

Thanks,

Peter Vogel

The actual comment is here which was my post about creating your own EPG for Windows MCE 2005.

Peter’s email address is: peter.vogel@icetv.info

So for all those Aussies looking for a local EPG, this is the answer to your quests. Though it’s a paid service, i’m sure it will work well.

If not, customize it yourself when you receive it, since it is in XML format!
