The Jazz Show/The Podcast Network

Just listening to The Jazz Show, which is one of the many shows on The Podcast Network, which is being run by the two Aussies Cam and Mick.

I’m enjoying the show, and the selection of music is pretty good.

Must admit i’ve been a little slow on the downloading of the other podcasts on the podcast network, been a tad busy with other things. But this jazz one seems like one i’ll enjoy for now.

It’s always good to have music while coding :)

The good thing about the music selection is that they are all free for download.

Hrm, time to get myself a new mp3 player me thinks. My last one got taken away from me (by my younger brother).

Ah, hrm… Maybe i’ll just get a small flash based one. About 1GB would probably be ideal for me. I don’t think I have enough time to go through more than that before I get bored by my music selection.

I can only think of positives for this Jazz podcast.

It is promoting the idea that there is great freely downloadable music out there if you search hard enough.

I like being told, “hey, this is good music here, have a listen…” then “think it’s good? well, you can download it for nothing!”.

With the disclaimer of course that this legal music will not get you into some legal trouble.

Should I start my very own podcast? Hrm…

Maybe not a podcast, but i’m thinking about perhaps actually recording a few of my blog posts rather than typing them.

Potential issues? 1) Bandwidth 2) I don’t think many people would enjoy listening to me ramble on about crap. Especially after hearing me being half awake and on G’day World.

We’ll see, in the meantime, i’m going to go look for a suitable microphone/headphone headset.

Unsure which to get though, anyone got a suggestion?

FYI, when I got called up by the G’day World guys, I fumbled around my table for my clipon mic which came with the iRiver H320. And then hunted for some earphones I had lying around somewhere. They called while I was watching cricket and just waking up. I missed their initial call, so had to call them back to see what they were after. (See, I had no idea what they were doing…).
