Article on Eric Rudder

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

Here’s an interesting article I just finished reading from the Seattle PI which talks about Eric Rudder of Microsoft.
I won’t say too much, but thought it was interesting enough to warrant a blog post about. Go take a read.

State of Origin .NET Code Challenge

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Ok, I’ve just got this random idea that I came up with yesterday (while sitting through the MDNUG meeting last night).
The idea is for an Australian State of Origin Code Challenge.
State versus state, user group versus user group.
The winning state/user group gets presented with a trophy with the names of the individuals from the winning [...]

eBay and the GST

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

Looks like eBay will now have to add GST to their listed prices from now on.
Well, on the Australian part of their site anyway (that’s ebay.com.au as opposed to ebay.com).
Why are the adding GST to the listed price?

Longhorn Red Screen of Death

Monday, May 9th, 2005

Wow, i’m half surprised and half “heh” about how fast the news travels around the web these days.

Cascading Style Sheets Cheat Sheet

Friday, May 6th, 2005

The PHP Princess, Daynah links to the CSS Cheat Sheet which looks like it is really useful for everyone who works with CSS stylesheets.
Personally, I keep a printed multi-page CSS reference guide with me anytime I need to do some work with styling a website. (Actually, this is something I’ve had for quite some [...]

The Google Empire

Thursday, May 5th, 2005

So Google now has a web accelerator and a they also allow you to keep a history of your web searches.
Now okay, I can see where the search history might be useful, but in all honesty, these days I just bookmark any links I want to look at later. It’s easy, create a new bookmark [...]

Longhorn, why should I care?

Thursday, May 5th, 2005

This is a question everyone will be asking as time progresses towards the date that Longhorn will be released to manufacturing, and then into stores and onto home computers worldwide.
In the comments of this post from Robert Scoble, Nicole Simon makes a good point.
Why should anyone care about Longhorn? Why? Aside from a subset [...]

And because I just wrote this nice and long piece that includes some of what I was about to blog about tonight, I’ve decided to just paste and leave a link to where I posted it.

This is a good thread.
It just goes to show the great passion around here. Definitely great to see [...]

A look at the recent and maybe not so recent?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005

It seems many think that this blog is dead. Or i’ve gone missing…
Well, just to say now that the blog’s not dead, and i’ve not really gone missing.
Just decided to take a break from writing blog posts.
It was just a longer than anticipated break. As a general rule, I only blog if I feel like [...]
