A look at the recent and maybe not so recent?

It seems many think that this blog is dead. Or i’ve gone missing…

Well, just to say now that the blog’s not dead, and i’ve not really gone missing.

Just decided to take a break from writing blog posts.

It was just a longer than anticipated break. As a general rule, I only blog if I feel like it. And not too distracted by other things (having fun drawing on my Tablet PC on MSN with other individuals… It’s fun! And I’ve realised that I can’t draw much, bar stick figures :P — Not that I didn’t already know that…)

I’ll be back blogging sometime soon, I think…

Been going to the golf driving range lately. Not getting any better is one thing I can say. Let’s see, earlier this year was probably hitting it about 120-130m (when I went for the first time). Now i’ve somehow gone backwards to about 75-95m. And a few shots around the 110m mark.

I’ve also been on the golf course for the first time in recent weeks. Played 9 holes with a few uni friends and my brother. I realise now that I’m better at putting than any of the other aspects of golf. (Should I quit while i’m ahead in that area? Nahhhhhh…!)

Ok, so what else have I been up to? Been looking and playing with a bit of ASP.NET 2.0 (yeah, that’s right, VWD 2005 Express).

Also been looking into all the AJAX stuff. Ajax Spray ‘n Wipe anyone?

So Scoble post about Team 99 and the road to Longhorn today. Had a brainwave, I thought, we seriously need an Aussie community influential/blogger onto that team. At least one.

We need a voice dammit! At least one I say, but one is a start :)

It’s a group of about 20. Hrm…

Decided I’d nominate one person for consideration by Scoble. But who?

Looking around the local bloggers that I read and that seem quite active, the obvious answer was none other than Mitch Denny. He seems to fit the requirements quite well, Super Dev? Yeah, super blogger? Judging by recent posting history, yes.

Power user? Um, yeah, let’s hope so :)

Give feedback on behalf of the community? Let’s hope so. Nah, of course he would.

Does anyone have any other nominees for the Australian blogosphere? I know a few others that I would nominate, but I decided to nominate just the one for now.

Have a look through who has already been nominated. If you know of anyone out there in the blogosphere that deserves to be nominated, then go ahead and put someone up for nomination.

I hope to write up my view about my Tablet PC. I love it. It’s a nice machine. I’ve seen a few LG Tablet PC commercials lately. Though, unsure whether it was the LG LT20 or LU20 (LT20 is a Tablet PC, while LU20 is a subnote).

Oh, and I saw my first Tablet PC in a retail store in Australia. It was at my local Clive Peters, and it was the HP/Compaq TC1100.

Wonder if people seeing the LG commercial will goto their retail outlets enquiring about them… Hrmm…

Oh, and I saw Mick Stanic on the Today Show the other day. He had his m200 on the show I noticed. Maybe someone should’ve asked him to show off his m200 while on the show ;) (You know, just grab it, twist the screen a bit, and use the pen as a pointer gesturing at some things on the screen…)

And podcasts… Haven’t really been listening to all that many lately. Or the ones that I do listen to, I skip through certain sections and listen to other parts. It’s not that i’ve lost interest in them, it’s perhaps more that I find a few of them long.

Same with blogs, I have been skipping through sections of text when my eyes start to get tired late at night (11pm+…)

Oh, and one more thing before I close my eyes and sleep til morning… I don’t know how I ever did without a pen input device for the computer.

The other day I grabbed my Tablet PC pen from the table and almost poked at the CRT monitor. Hrmm… And my relatives seem to be impressed with the Chinese language input using the Tablet PC. Hehe, but they refrain from saying too much after hearing of the price I paid and the RRP in Australia.

Kirsten, I’ve purchased the Toshiba Portege m200 from eXpansys. I purchased it for about $3,300 in April.
