Searching Australian Libraries

Just noticed this article in the ABC News about 800 Australian libraries making some of their content available online.

The article says the service is being provided by the National Library of Australia.

Check out the service here.

And it even displays photos from the PictureAustralia Flickr group. To participate, join the group, and any Australian themed photos that you have on Flickr, just add it to the PictureAustralia group pool.

Oh, and as far as Australian news RSS feeds go, the ones from ABC seem to be the best. There’s several different categories and they all seem to be more up to date than the ones provided by mainstream print media outlets (eg: News.com/TheAge) that I subscribe to.

Anyway, it’s a nice service and some of the results I’ve found through it look interesting. Especially if your looking to read up on local history.
